Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying two drivers involved in a hit-and-run collision that severely injured a woman.
On October 5, 2025, around 5:45 a.m., a dark-colored 2018-2025 Ford Explorer was traveling south on Central Avenue when it struck a female pedestrian crossing the street at the intersection of Central Avenue and 14th Place. The impact caused the pedestrian to be projected in a southwesterly direction, where she collided with the roadway. While on the ground, she was hit a second time by a blue compact SUV, possibly a 2007-2011 Honda CR-V.
Both drivers failed to stop, identify themselves, or render aid, as required by law. The vehicles fled the scene, continuing south on Central Avenue.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the female pedestrian to a local hospital, where she was treated for life-threatening injuries.
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
