Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs
Starting off with the AFC, I’m looking at the Houston Texans taking on the Kansas City Chiefs. This game is really going to come down to Patrick Mahomes and how he plays.

The one thing that can bring negative implications for this Kansas offense in the Texans’ pass rush. Everybody is obviously leaning towards the Chiefs and the only way I could see Houston pulling this off is if their pass rush takes over.

They have to cut the head off the snake and get Mahomes on the ground. If they can do that, then it’s down to C. J. Stroud to make some big-time plays on the other side.

That’s easier said than done, though. Mahomes is 6-0 in the divisional round and I’m leaning towards the Chiefs here. It’s going to be an exciting game though and I’m interested to see how they fare against the Texans’ defense.

Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills
The second game in the AFC between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills is the game of the year. It’s the one we have all been waiting for.

We are going to see the two best quarterbacks in the game – number one and two in the MVP race – going head-to-head.

Now it all comes down to pressure. Every conversation surrounding Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen is about whether they can win a Super Bowl.

It’s not about playing well in the regular season – which they have both done – it’s about whether they can win the Super Bowl. This is their toughest challenge yet.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the two of them handle the pressure. Both are going to make plays because this is their moment and that is exactly what we want to see.

They’ll both be watching each other make plays from the sideline and thinking about matching what the other one is doing.

Everybody in the NFL is excited about this game and with the Ravens’ defense improving I’m leaning towards them.

The combination of Lamar and Derrick Henry could just be the difference – I’m picking them to progress to the Championship Game.

Prediction: Baltimore Ravens to win
Washington Commanders @ Detroit Lions
Now we move over to the NFC, starting with the Detroit Lions hosting the Washington Commanders.

I think the pressure is all on the Lions here because they’re supposed to win this game, so it’ll be interesting to see how they handle that.

They’re going up against a Commanders team with a quarterback who can light it up.

Jayden Daniels has ice in his veins. This season will already be counted as a success for Washington so they’re almost playing with nothing to lose. Daniels is playing with freedom and he’s a real scary prospect for any opponent right now.

If history continues to repeat itself then the Lions will come out and perform at a high level, but anything can happen in the playoffs and they need to come out and play loose, not tighten up.

I’m still sticking with the Lions here, as I have done since the beginning of the season, but it won’t be easy.

They need to come out and show themselves as the dominant force in the NFC from the off, because if they give the Commanders a chance then they might just start to believe.

Prediction: Detroit Lions to win
Los Angeles Rams @ Philadelphia Eagles
The second game in the NFC sees the Los Angeles Rams heading over to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. The star man in this game is going to be Saquon Barkley and he will be key to the Eagles winning.

The Eagles have a clear formula for success which has served them well this season.

They know what they need to do on offense and they play with the belief that they can beat anyone if they stick to their gameplan, because they simply have better players.

Saquon Barkley was unbelievable against the Rams in Week 12 when he set a franchise record with 255 rushing yards, if he puts in another performance even close to that then it’s hard to look past the Eagles, especially with how well their defense has been performing recently

The Rams’ hopes really rest with the star quality that Matthew Stafford possesses. If he’s allowed to get loose then he can beat anybody.

He can give his team a chance and the fact he’s a Super Bowl champion can’t be overlooked. That experience is so important in the playoffs.

That said, I think the Eagles just have too much quality here and if they can go about their business the way they want to, then I can’t see the Rams being able to stop them.
