Football Predictions Thursday
Belgium v Italy

Belgium welcome the league leaders Italy to the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels on Thursday night in this UEFA Nations League clash. – Check out our UEFA Nations League odds.

It’s been a tough time of late for Domenico Tedesco and his Belgian side, following their early exit from the European Championships during the summer, the Red Devils have won just one of their last four games in the UEFA Nations League, leaving them on the brink of a relegation play-off place. However, a victory in this one would keep their very slim chances of progressing out of the group stage alive but it’s a massive ask.

Italy will travel to Belgium knowing that they only need a draw to secure their place in the quarter-finals of this UEFA Nations League campaign. Luciano Spalletti’s side remain unbeaten in Group A2 and sit at the summit with just two games left to play, Gli Azzurri were left frustrated in the reverse fixture last month having thrown away a two goal lead but they had the majority of the game with ten men following Lorenzo Pellegrini’s red card on 38 minutes.

I think we’re in for goals here in Brussels, Belgium have seen three of their last four games produce both teams to score, whilst all of Italy’s group games so far have seen the same. Five of the last six meetings between these two sides have seen both teams to score and at least three goals.

Italy will be looking for a favourable draw in the next round and will be dreaming of UEFA Nations League success.

France v Israel
France will take on Israel at the Stade de France on Thursday evening in the UEFA Nations League.

France could confirm their place in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final if they avoid defeat here or if Belgium fail to beat Italy, either way Les Bleus are in a brilliant position after winning three of their four games so far. If France are to secure their place in the next round, they’ll have to do it without Kylian Mbappe, with Didier Deschamps leaving the Real Madrid striker out of his latest squad, insisting it’s for the best.

Israel look set to return to UEFA Nations League Group B following four defeats from their last four games in this competition. Ran Ben Shimon’s side have actually found the back of the net in all of their games so far but their leaky defence seems to be their undoing, as they have conceded the most from any of the sixteen teams participating in Group A.

You’d expect this to be straight forward for France even without their superstar Kylian Mbappe, Bradley Barcola will be the man looking to follow up his brace for PSG on Saturday, he also scored when these two sides met last month.

France will be hoping to their 2021 triumph in this competition and claim their second UEFA Nations League title.

Greece v England
England will travel to Athens on Thursday for this UEFA Nations League clash at the Olympic Stadium of Athens. – Check out our latest UEFA Nations League odds.

Greece just need to avoid defeat against England on Thursday to secure their promotion to League A for the first time ever. Ethniki are yet to face defeat under Ivan Jovanović and maintain their 100% record so far in Group B2 and will be hoping his side can put another performance in here like they did at Wembley last month, a 2-1 victory for Greece to defy the betting odds and in all honesty, it could have and should have been a lot more convincing.

You get the feeling that Lee Carsley will be grateful to see the back of his time in charge of the England national team, just two games left to play before he returns back to the U21 set up. Thomas Tuchel is the man that the FA will be hoping can bring glory to England for the first time sine 1966, I’m sure the German will be hoping to come straight into this job and focus on those World Cup qualifiers as opposed to having to play a play-off fixture to secure promotion into League A. That means the Three Lions have to win this one and take it down to the final game of the group stage to see who will finish at the summit.

As mentioned, Greece deserved to beat England last month but this is a must win for the Three Lions and I think we’ll see a much more convincing performance from Lee Carsley’s side.

Thomas Tuchel will be hoping to avoid any additional games with his focus turning to the World Cup qualifiers.

Republic of Ireland v Finland
The Republic of Ireland will welcome Finland to the Aviva Stadium on Thursday evening in this UEFA Nations League clash.

It’s been a poor start for Heimir Hallgrimsson in charge of the Republic of Ireland, with just one win in his first four games in charge. The Boys in Green are almost playing for pride now given it’s extremely unlikely they’ll secure a play-off spot, whilst picking up at least one point here on Thursday night would mean that the Irish would avoid finishing bottom of the group. However, the one win so far under Hallgrimsson did come away from home against Finland, something they’ll be looking to take positives from ahead of this game in Dublin.

Finland head to Dublin knowing another defeat here would inflict an unwanted record, coming off the back of four defeats in their last four, they haven’t lost five on the bounce since 1994. It’s too late now for the Eagle-Owls to secure a play-off position but Markku Kanerva will be hoping his side can pick up a victory in this one and take it down to the wire in hope of securing a relegation play-off ahead of the Republic of Ireland.

The Republic of Ireland came from behind in Helsinki last month to beat Finland 2-1, both teams have found the back of the net in seven of the last nine Finland games, so we could be in for an entertaining game here.

Heimir Hallgrimsson will be looking to execute the same game plan in this one as he looks for his second win in charge of the Boys in Green.

Football Predictions Friday
Denmark v Spain

The current UEFA Nations League & UEFA European Championship holders will travel to Copenhagen on Friday evening as Spain take on Demark. – Check out our UEFA Nations League odds.

Denmark still have a little bit of work to do in order to secure a place in the quarter-finals of this competition but things are looking good for Brian Riemer’s side. The Danes sit second and just three points behind Friday’s opponents having won two of their four games so far, both of which occurred on home soil which will be a boost for the Red and Whites ahead of this clash.

Spain’s unbeaten record continues and Luis de la Fuente’s side have already secured their place in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final stage with two games left to play. They’ve won three of their first four games in the group stage after playing out a stalemate in their opener away to Serbia, it’s now fourteen games unbeaten for Spain across all competitions, it’s an impressive record especially during a European Championship campaign. La furia Roja will be without their talented winger Lamine Yamal following an ankle injury but simply avoiding defeat in this one would secure Spain that top spot in group A4.

Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi’s goal with just over 10 minutes left to play secured a 1-0 victory for Spain in their last meeting with Denmark last month, the Spanish have a really good record against the Danes having avoided defeat in their last eight meetings with victories in seven of those eight.

Spain will be hoping to make it consecutive UEFA Nations League outright winners, they have a real chance to do so under de la Fuente.

Portugal v Poland
The Estádio do Dragão in Porto is the venue for this one as Portugal take on Poland in the UEFA Nations League on Friday night.

Portugal are all but there in terms of securing their place in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final stage, Lusos sit at the summit of group A1 with ten points after winning three of their first four games and playing out a surprising goalless draw away to Scotland in their last outing. A victory in this one for Roberto Martinez’s side would book their place in the next round with one game to spare, although simply avoiding defeat for A Seleção das Quinas could be enough if Croatia fail to beat Scotland.

Poland still have a slim chance of securing a quarter-final place themselves but they’ll likely need a victory here in Porto to do so, if the Eagles are to defy the betting odds in this one they’ll have to do it without all-time top scorer Robert Lewandowski with the Barcelona man looking to recover from a back injury he suffered during their 1-0 defeat in La Liga on Sunday evening, a big blow for Michał Probierz and co.

You’d expect Portugal to get themselves a fairly comfortable victory in this one, they’ve been in fine form of late and will be looking to bounce back from that disappointing draw in Glasgow last month. Portugal won the reverse fixture just over a month ago 3-1 away from home, we could see something similar in this one.

Winners of this competition back in 2019, Roberto Martinez will be hoping his side can reclaim the UEFA Nations League.

Scotland v Croatia
Croatia will travel to Glasgow on Friday night for this UEFA Nations League clash against Scotland at Hampden Park.

It’s been a really tough time for Steve Clarke and Scotland, they sit rock bottom of group A1 after picking up just one point from a possible twelve so far. That might have been expected following their promotion in league A but the real concern is their form going all the way back to September 2023. Steve Clarke’s side have won just one (v Gibraltar) in their last sixteen games, suffering defeat in ten of those which has put real pressure on the Scotland manager, there’s two games left of their UEFA Nations League campaign but it could be the last two games that Clarke has in charge of Scotland.

Croatia have got one foot in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final, the occupy second place prior to this clash in Glasgow just three points behind league leaders Portugal. Avoiding defeat here could be enough for Zlatko Dalić’s side to secure their place in the next round if Poland fail to pick up anything from their visit to Porto.

I think we could be in for a close encounter in this one, Croatia have won their last two meetings with Scotland, including their 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture last month. However, the Blazers have never beaten Scotland away from home in their three attempts. I think we could be in for goals though, both nations have seen six of their last eight games produce both teams to score.

Runners-up in this competition last year, can Croatia defy the betting odds in this campaign?
