Today, I delivered a speech at the traditional National Defense Academy of Japan graduation ceremony, praising the graduates and taking an oath to “face danger and fulfill your responsibilities with all your heart when the time comes.” I hope that the graduates, who are about to take their first steps as senior officers of the Self-Defense Forces, will take pride and honor in being Self-Defense Forces officers and carry out their duties while carrying the expectations of the Japanese people.
