888poker surveyed 2,000 people and discovered some eye-opening facts when it comes to truth-telling.

Bluffs to the boss
The survey found that a fifth (20%) of working adults ‘regularly’ fib to their boss. And it’s about a range of subjects too. Reasons include why they were late in, how busy or quiet their workload is and pulling a sickie. And it appears to be a regular thing. 39% of respondents said they bend the truth multiple times a month.

The easiest way to tell fibs
According to 34% of respondents, messaging someone via text or email is the easiest way to bend the truth. But 12% think they have a pretty good poker face and prefer face-to-face interaction.
Flushed out

16% have been caught fibbing (their bosses can clearly identify the silent signals!). After being caught in the act, 34% said they felt embarrassed, and some of the consequences faced include:
• A verbal warning
• A written warning
• A demotion
• Job termination.
