Premier League Darts 2019: Week Five Betting Tips & Odds

It was another bad week for the blog predictions in Week Four of the 2019 Premier League Darts campaign. After just two correct picks on the Exeter oche, focus now turns to Week Five and Aberdeen – the second Scottish night on the tour.

Another thrilling night of tungsten action awaits on Thursday night; the league table is starting to take shape. Scroll down to browse out best darts betting tips ahead of Week Five.

Michael Smith vs ROB CROSS (7:15pm)

Smith has been the biggest disappointment in this year’s Premier League… so far. Bully Boy was expected to be the main challenger to Van Gerwen’s crown at the start of the campaign but it hasn’t panned out that way as of yet.

Meanwhile, Cross is flying high in the playoff places. Voltage was rampant against Gurney in Week Four and a similar performance could be on the cards here. 27/20 for Cross to win is a very good price and punters should snap that up based on the last four weeks.

With Bully Boy low on confidence, all signs point towards a Cross triumph. It won’t be one-sided but the former world champion can get the job done.

Daryl Gurney vs JAMES WADE (7:55pm)

Our traders can’t split these two players – punters can get 29/20 on both men ahead of this contest. Gurney was thrashed last time out and he will want to get back to winning ways; he has scored the least number of legs in the Premier League this year.

Wade is currently second in the table after a very consistent start to the season. The 7-4 loss to Cross is the only real blemish on his Premier League record and punters will fancy the nine-time major champion to emerge victorious against Gurney.

Another really difficult game to call but Wade is in better form and he is the more consistent player. 29/20 is a massive price considering his quality and experience on the big stage.

Mensur Suljovic vs GERWYN PRICE (8:35pm)

Write Suljovic off at your peril. At the time of writing, he is sixth in the table but that victory over Wright may kickstart his Premier League campaign. Still one of the best players in the business, Suljovic is due another big performance.

Price is the only player yet to taste defeat in this year’s Premier League – the Welshman has been a revelation in 2019. He has even started to win some of the darts fans over and that can only be positive for his confidence as we enter the business end of the campaign.

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD vs PETER WRIGHT (9:15pm)

Van Barneveld is winless in four Premier League matches this year and the Aberdeen crowd will raise the roof if the Dutch legend can emerge victorious. A real fan favourite, Barney is enjoying his time at the oche but results just aren’t going his way.

Wright has been very disappointing for the best part of a year now but a trip north of the border may get the best out of him. He has lost just once in four Premier League games but turning draws into wins is proving difficult.

Michael van Gerwen vs JOHN HENDERSON (9:55pm)

Van Gerwen is a class above his rivals at this moment in time. More often than not, he will win without really having to exert maximum effort. He is sitting pretty at the top of the table and is the clear 2/5 favourite to lift the Premier League trophy this season.

Henderson has been around for some time but he has never managed to crack a PDC major tournament. With that being said, he gave an excellent account of himself at the World Championship last year and could at least put on a respectable performance in Glasgow.

I fancy the underdog to keep this one relatively close. 8/11 for the world number 21 to win three or more legs? I’ll take my chances on that.
